Meijer Community Rewards FAQs

Dear Members of St. Paul’s,

For over 125 years, the members of St. Paul’s have supported their school with prayers, volunteers, and monetary gifts.  The parishioners have been a blessing to many children in the past and you continue to be a blessing to the children of the present.  With your prayers and your gifts, St. Paul’s School will continue to teach God’s Word to those little lambs in the classroom.

Did you know that St. Paul’s School participates in some "community resource" programs?    This article will inform you of those and how you can help the students of your school.

The Meijer Corporation is the sponsor of the Meijer Community Rewards program.   This is a wonderful program!  If you would like a rewards card you may apply for one by completing an application online at  Meijer.com/rewards or call 1-800-962-7011.   The number for St. Paul’s is 578632.  This number must be on your application in order for the school to receive the monthly monetary rewards.  Meijers has recently announced changes to their program.  They have extended their re-enrollment deadline to May 31, 2007 and now customers will be able to use debit cards, a Meijer credit card or cash for their purchases.  These types of payments will allow St. Paul’s to receive a percentage of your purchase.  We are thankful for the gifts this that this program has helped to fund—most recently, the new sound system at school and a portion of the bleacher renovation.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION!

We have been clipping General Mills’s box tops for several years.   Each of the box tops is worth ten cents.    These box tops are sent in twice during the school year.  Sometimes, grocery stores will offer bonus coupons of varying value.  These are also sent in and help raise our box top total.  Thank you for cutting and clipping those labels!  You may deposit these boxtops at school or in the church basement –near the card shop area.

The Target Corporation sponsors a program entitled “Target Take Charge of Education”.   For each purchase you make at the store with the Target Visa or the Target credit card St. Paul's receives a percentage of the total of your purchases.   If you have these cards and you want to have St. Paul's be the beneficiary, you must designate our school on the form.  Every few months our school receives a check.  We thank you for designating St. Paul's to receive a portion of your shopping!

Finally, Thrivent Financial has a program called Giving Plus.  This would allow St. Paul’s School to receive additional funds when you donate any amount to school to be used for an item on the school wish list or a monetary gift to a specific classroom.  Many of you already do this, so we wanted to make you aware of this program.

Thrivent will contribute $1.00 to every $2.00 that is contributed by Thrivent members.  When you contribute, you will be asked to complete a Giving Plus form and then include that form with your donation.  This will insure that your monetary gift will be supplemented.

We appreciate all your help with these programs.  The money we receive from these different programs  is put into the school gift fund.  That fund helps to cover some of the expenses we have that are not in the budget.  For example, the installation of white boards (replacing chalk boards) in the classrooms were paid for from these funds.  The cost of various assemblies are also paid for from these monies.

It is a blessing for our school that our congregation members are very supportive of Christian education.  In addition to your prayers, we are thankful for your participation in these programs.

If you have any questions about any of these, please call the school office.
